IN REFERENCE to the police report headed 'Teen bashed at fundraiser' in a recent edition of The Murray Pioneer (30/3/10), I would like to express my disappointment in your reporting of the incident.

Schapelle’s horror story3
SCHAPELLE CORBY'S on the cover of Woman’s Day again.

WE WRITE in reply to the recent Letter to the Editor (18/5/10) headed 'I'm still a mum’.

The original articles in The Pioneer's Mother’s Day lift out - including the story about our mother – made no point of singling out biological mothers and surely were not intended to discriminate against any specific 'types’ of mothers, including step-mums or foster mums.
In fact, we were both adopted as babies, something that wasn’t mentioned in our story, simply because we didn’t think it relevant.
Our story wasn’t about biological mothers or non-biological mothers or anything of the sort.
It was just about our mum. Our brother, who is our mother’s biological son, also sees it the same way.
Do we really have to put a big headline across a story and say we’re adopted or that our mother is in fact a step-mum?
All mums are mums, something pointed out in the letter.
The author of this letter obviously assumed we were biological children, which is similar to assuming step-mums are not as worthy of love and recognition as all other mums.
You don’t receive any medals being a mother or father. It’s the hardest job in the world, so all mothers should be recognised.
Our name and address are not withheld by us proud daughters.
