School relocation
THE RELOCATION of the Riverland Special School has been ongoing since 2004 when the governments wanted to redevelop the existing site when there was around 40 plus students.
Embellished headline
IN REFERENCE to the police report headed 'Teen bashed at fundraiser' in a recent edition of The Murray Pioneer (30/3/10), I would like to express my disappointment in your reporting of the incident.
I WAS left confused by a letter from Robyn O'Dea (The Advertiser, 7/6/10) which accused the State Government of "...being part of the privatisation of all Murray-Darling Basin water....".
A check of the Collins dictionary - available at most newsagencies – indicated that “privatisation” occurs when governments sell state owned assets, like the previous government did when they sold ETSA.
Governments purchasing water is actually part 'nationalisation’ of the MDB.
So the incredible numbers of South Australians who read her letter would have been left wondering what Robyn was getting at and indeed what she claims our community is fed up with.
Having read nothing but diatribe in the past from this author I quickly became amused at her ramblings and moved on.
