EDITORIAL: Rip-offs provide perspective1
The State Government has little influence on where the Federal Government spends its - or more accurately 'our' – education money.

School relocation2
THE RELOCATION of the Riverland Special School has been ongoing since 2004 when the governments wanted to redevelop the existing site when there was around 40 plus students.

Embellished headline1
IN REFERENCE to the police report headed 'Teen bashed at fundraiser' in a recent edition of The Murray Pioneer (30/3/10), I would like to express my disappointment in your reporting of the incident.

Cut immigration now
IN MY 65 years I've never voted Liberal, or Labor for that matter.

Schapelle’s horror story3
SCHAPELLE CORBY'S on the cover of Woman’s Day again.

Kym (Text the Editor, 8/6/10), I really don't think Dee was talking about kids picking on each other in Text the Editor. Exhibit A: I agree with her wholly.

House in Hampstead Garden, Adelaide (with recycling), $600 a year council rates. House in Berri township worth far less (no recycling), $1800. Why aren’t more people asking questions of the Berri Barmera Council?

You know there’s something wrong with your memory when you go to put the milk away and your mate says: "Is that mobile phone full of milk?". Oops.

Ironically Ron (Text the Editor, 8/6/10), Sunlands is not far from Cadell. We all know what is there.

Cheers to the clown or clowns responsible for the smoky stench hovering in homes in vicinity of Government Road and Chowilla Street.

Technology is advancing - I now record TV programs on to a hard drive. Shame the TV stations can’t keep time. Five minutes over can mean we miss the winner going over the line or a dramatic end to a movie. Get it together, please.

Loved the Panda Park story (The Pioneer, 8/6/10. Best of luck to them.

I went to that water meeting (The Pioneer, 8/6/10). Not too many “facts” I could see floating around, though more of them than “hope”, that’s for sure.

Maybe Mildura-style stop lights are the only way to make Renmark Avenue a bit safer (The Pioneer, 8/6/10).

I don’t think Renmark needs traffic lights (Text the Editor, 8/6/10). We just need people who drive more carefully, rather than idiot drivers.

Enjoyed Kristen’s column this week (8/6/10). A sensible conclusion, without any grand statements of silly judgements.

Yes, the placement of speed cameras is the key issue (The Pioneer, 8/6/10). However, I would like to see more emphasis placed on nabbing tailgaters. They’re everywhere in the Riverland.
