IN REFERENCE to the police report headed 'Teen bashed at fundraiser' in a recent edition of The Murray Pioneer (30/3/10), I would like to express my disappointment in your reporting of the incident.
To the woman at the Renmark Plaza car park on Saturday night at 7.40pm. You let a supermarket trolley leave your hands, roll and hit the back of my car. I saw it happen. Don't you have any respect for other’s people’s cars in a public car park? Do you believe in karma? I do, so look out.

I read the texts and Letters to the Editor on Friday (23/7/10) after Brenton’s article on Tuesday expecting to see The Pioneer full of texts and letters in support of a review of Berri Barmera Council rates. And nothing except my lonely text. If we, as ratepayers, continue to do nothing, it will never change. Come on people, speak up. Council elections are coming up soon.

I saw an interview on WIN TV (July 21) talking about cigarette butts in the street discouraging people from shopping. Butts have been around for years and they are particularly bad on country music days. I know butts make a mess, but the biggest trouble for shoppers is that some cars are parked for hours and when you shop you can’t get a park. Some pensioners have a battle to walk to get their medication. So the people go to Berri to shop.

Joe Hockey, you say Julia Gillard stabbed Kevin Rudd in the back. What about Tony Abbott? Didn’t he stab Malcolm Turnbull in the back?

In response to Mel Smith’s Letter to the Editor (9/7/10), English is in fact not Australia’s 'native’ language, as our history dates back further than the arrival of white man. Therefore, the native languages of Australia are the indigenous languages. This renders Mel’s comment somewhat ethnocentric.

The Riverland Special School kids are doing a great job with their recycling around town. Hopefully the council can also step it up by offering kerb side recycling in the future too.
